This cut should not be done by beginners. This is a dangerous cut, a lot can go wrong with little room for errors. I didn't want to climb this very dead pine any higher. It was about 95f to 98f tall. The top was to light to brush thru the surrounding tree canopy. I definitely didn't want to rig off this hard leaning dead pine. Best option to get the weight off safely and without much shock force. I was tied in to another live pine behind me.
