WHAT ARE CANNABINOIDS?

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant. The human body also produces cannabinoids—known as endocannabinoids—as a kind of metabolic stabilizer. While the cannabis plant create these compounds, they use these compounds as a natural defense mechanism against environmental hazards such as insects and harsh weather.

When produced in the cannabis plant, they are called phytocannabinoids. Phytocannabinoids, along with terpenes, flavonoids, and other desirable compounds, are produced in the trichomes—external glands that appear on the plant as tiny, hair-like outgrowths.
