Triumph TR4 12v Points Boost At Start Position Only - Works on any points system with Ballast Resist

If you have a 12 volt points system and are burning points, or having problems on cold start you need to ohm check your system. 3Ω total and 6 volts running but you need 12 volts only at the crank/start position. On GM's you may have an "R" term on your starter but what if you don't? Best to look at your wiring diagram but they are all pretty much the same on most 12 volt cars that use coils, points and such. I opened a 50 year old OHMITE Vitreous Enameled Resistance Unit for fun.
