Slim Thug takes immense pride in being a Houstonian, and he's dedicated to preserving the heart and soul of his city. Rather than lamenting the impact of gentrification, which has affected many bustling cities, including Houston, he decided to take matters into his own hands.

In a 2017 interview on "Sway's Universe," Slim Thug explained, "We built affordable homes because a lot of people are going through these hoods and just buying up everything, you know what I’m saying, and running these people out of there and building these expensive places and running them taxes up. So, you know, it’s definitely going down in H-Town."

Since 2015, Slim Thug's Boss Life Construction company, co-founded with Cory Crawford and Troy Green, has been instrumental in providing affordable housing to the Houston community. The company's mission is to cultivate a true sense of community for families and young professionals alike.
