Morguebirth II

Splitting apart skin, water fills the cut.
Stagnant blood clogs my veins.
Laying in this tub, I taunt death.
How can I die if I’m already dead?

Once night falls, we prowl this city.
Windows shatter, doors splinter from our fists.
You can’t out-run our rage.
No escape once our hands claim you.

Lead by our demon lord, we kill and eat in the name of justice.
No one questions him, no one defies that horrid face.
Under daylight, we’re starved to the brink of insanity.

Confined in trap houses, we aimlessly wander.
Dreaming, we taste the squishy brains.
With no other way to rid the restlessness…
My frail body is my canvas.

He beckons us to indulge in the gore.
The ecstasy of death brings me to life.
We endure rigor mortis so we can feed.
He brought us from the morgues, he freed us from the graves…
only to make us his murderous slaves.

Gunshots fire and bodies fall to the floor.
A spotlight falls upon me as I run.
Bullets sear gaping wounds but I only feel hate.
Soon, my hunger will be satisfied.

Nails carve welts on your arms.
You scream as you writhe beneath me.
Biting your face into ribbons of flesh.
Gore soaked, I watch you die!

Under the decay, I can’t feel my face!
There always seems to be flesh under my nails.
Darkened blood will never washes from my clothes.

But I was dead and I should have stayed dead.
Forced back to life, all I do is kill for him.

I ate your flesh, I drank your blood.
Now, I move on, dragging feet in the mud.
He brought us from the morgues, he freed us from the graves…
only to make us his murderous slaves.
