In last night's highly anticipated F1 event, the practice session took an unforeseen twist, leaving enthusiasts disheartened.

Merely nine minutes into the initial practice session, the race abruptly halted as Carlos Sainz's car collided with a water valve cover, causing significant damage to his Ferrari.

Expressing their apprehensions, F1 fans like Geo Rosario from Florida raised questions about the potential impact on the actual race. "Hopefully, this doesn't affect the main race. Canceling the practice is one thing, but if it influences the actual race, it's disheartening after traveling all this way," Rosario remarked.

The incident prompted the cancellation of the first practice run and a two-and-a-half-hour delay for the second practice session as repairs were undertaken on the track.

Regrettably, fans were barred from attending the second run, commencing around 2:30 a.m., after multiple drainage covers were sealed.

Observing the unexpected turn of events, fans like Benjamin Martinez and his son Andy, who journeyed from Arizona for the event, were left with numerous questions. "We saw sparks on a specific part of the track, and I was curious about what was happening there," shared Andy Martinez.

Now, they eagerly await further information leading up to Saturday's race, concerned about the safety of the racers.

With another practice session slated for 8:30 p.m. tonight, fans are hopeful for a more successful and uninterrupted run, anticipating a smooth buildup to the main race on Saturday.
