Homemade anti-cumulative gratings installed to increase the protection of the vulnerable shoulder strap of the T-80BVM turret.

The gratings are mounted along the turret shoulder strap by analogy with an early example of the T-90M tank. However, then in production copies and subsequent upgrades of the tank they were replaced with a soft mesh, since such hard meshes at a certain angle of rotation of the turret can significantly interfere with the evacuation of the driver from a damaged vehicle.
