The Mayor of London has brought into extended areas a scheme called ULEZ. ULEZ stands for Ultra Low Emission Zones, ths affects older vehicles based on the emissions from the vehicle. The Mayor of London Sadiqq Khan has extended the areas to cover most of the outskirts of London affecting lots of people and businesses. The Cameras are popping up all over, including Glasgow, Bristol (Clean Air Zone) and many more towns and cities.

The charge to drive a non compliant vehicle is £12.50 a day, and the fines much more raking in the Mayor £730000 per day, although he claims it is for cleaner air. Basing figures on a theory and not actual science of how many deaths in London caused by polluted air, the true figure is 1 person in 20 years. Not 4000 a ear as the Mayor claims.

The Van Blockers are protesters that attend the locations of the new ULEZ Camera vans using signs and flags to block the cameras stopping people getting scanned and fined. There is an activist group called the bladerunners where they are many people up and down the country that have been using expanding foam, spray paint, disc cutters sometimes removing the cameras completely. Transport for London has teams of security guarding the vans including cleaning teams to remove stickers and other materials from blocking the cameras.
