Bolivia continues fight against Amazon fires

Bolivia’s Amazon basin has been besieged by severe fires that continue to ravage the region. While more than 100 firefighters saved a sugar mill from burning down, the extent of the disaster still remains extreme – according to official data, almost three million hectares (nearly 7.5 million acres) of Bolivian land have been affected by fires this year.
