UN says people in Gaza are close to starvation - BBC News

The United Nations is warning that Palestinians in Gaza are facing the "immediate possibility of starvation". It says aid cannot be distributed there due to a lack of fuel.

The Israeli government has said it will allow in two tankers of diesel fuel a day but the UN says that is not nearly enough.

Israeli airstrikes have been continuing. The UN says one in every 57 people in Gaza has now been killed or wounded since the start of the Israeli offensive there.

Israel says it is waging war on Hamas in Gaza after gunmen raided Israel on 7th October and killed 1,200 people.
