The Glock 19x MOS - Is It The Best EDC Pistol?

Is it finally here? The Glock 19x we have all been waiting for? Unfortunately it is not. The Glock 19x MOS is not a real thing but, with some help from our friends over at Maple Leaf Firearms you can have a set up better than anything that the Glock factory has ever put out. And like me you can maintain the reliability that we have all come to know and love about Glocks.
So the question is why? Why do all this work to a stock Glock 19x instead of just buying a Zev or a Shadow systems? My answer is unparalleled reliability.

Let me just start by saying I have never owned a Shadow Systems but I have heard great things. But I had one go with Zev that pushed me right back in to the hands of Glock...

During the year 2020 I was desperately looking for a Glock with a shorter slide than my current EDC at the time the full size 17. Appendix carrying a full size anything gets old real quick. I couldn't find a Glock anywhere. SO, I talked myself into the Zev OZ9... At the time they were very expensive and they still are priced that way. Naturally, with that type of price tag I expected perfection. However, what I got was a bit disappointing. Nothing crazy but, I started to notice the number of malfunctions per 100 rounds was pretty significant. I am talking 1 or 2 per 100 rounds fired of good factory loaded brass. I contacted Zev about it and they sent me 2 heavier powered springs, which made the overall Number of malfunctions go down however I was still not satisfied with the results. Reliability is paramount for my EDC. That is why I sold it to a friend for a large discount, who I obviously fully disclosed all of the issues to, and came back to Glock.

From there I took the new stock 19x slide to the guys at Maple Leaf Firearms. There they milled the slide with their Valkyrie cut design and moved the rear sight forward of the new RMR footprint. The results speak for themselves. This thing turned out better than I could have pictured and to this day maintains its Glock reliability. I have run over 2k rounds through this rig without ONE MALFUNCTION. I am truly impressed. This is by far my prefered EDC. With a full-size grip, Magwell, RMR Red Dot, and the rear sight forward, I am very comfortable taking fast, accurate shots at any handgun distance. I would encourage anyone who is in the market for slide work to look into Maple Leaf for your milling needs. Tell them RangeDayBro sent you and they might cut you a discount.

Other than the slide work this rig is featuring a Trijicon RMR 3.5 MOA, Parker Mountain Machine single chamber G19 COMP, Zaffiri Precision G19 threaded barrel, SLR RifleWorks 19x Magwell, and the Ameriglo GL-511 Suppressor Height Sights. Everything else is bone stock.
