FN SCAR17 NRCH Suppressed Shooting Review

The FN SCAR17 NRCH is one of those dream rigs for me. I honestly cannot believe that I have one. But all that nostalgia and love aside I realized two things during this review. One, it is certainly over gassed with a can on it. Two, it has a surprisingly soft recoil for how over gassed it is. I know those two statements are oxymorons but the camera don't lie and as you can see, the recoil is non-existent. Using only the stock suppressed setting with the stock gas jet this guy only had one malfunction in 250 rounds. I say "only" because the more research I did the more I realized that the SCAR17 has a long history of issues when it comes to suppressed. The DeadAir Sandman S is a traditional baffle stacked can so unlike the OSS flow through suppressors, their is a lot more back pressure. In the video I discuss the plan I have for mitigating this elevated back pressure in the future when running cans.

As a benchmark I shot the 50 round carbine drill from T-Rex arms using the FN SCAR17 NRCH scoring a hit factor of 1.00441 which is pretty bad from what I have seen. I had to use improvised targets but I made due with what I had. As time goes on and I make more upgrades to the SCAR and train more with it, I plan to continue to run this drill to track my improvement. I discussed the parts in my previous video so if you're looking for that be sure to check out that video: "World's Best Battle Rifle? Upgraded SCAR 17 NRCH"
