How to Fix The SCAR 17 Overgassing; SCARburator Gen 3 Test & Review

The SCAR 17 is an amazing platform and boasts many benefits over the competition. However, when making upgrades to it, as I have, you must be aware of the consequences of those actions. In this video we will discuss how the SCARbuator Gen 3 Supercharged by MotoTech Engineering resolved the major issue of overgassing in my SCAR 17. This device is a drop in solution to the overgassing issue we see in the SCAR 17, especially when running it suppressed. The addition of a suppressor VOIDS the factory warranty from FNH, which is obviously concerning but did not stop me from purchasing this dream rig and upgrading it as I saw fit. However, this did alarm me when I quickly realized the rear receiver screws were dramatically canted after only ~250 suppressed rounds through it. This was brought to my attention by one of my subscribers who said to look out for this to occur when using the SCAR in conjunction with the KDG Stock.

I have always wanted to own a SCAR 17 and I may have been blinded by my love for the platform when I ignored key warnings from the interwebs about shooting the SCAR 17 suppressed. Regardless of these issues, I am not ready to give up my Suppressed SCAR 17. So instead, I found a solution to the problem in the SCARbuator Gen 3. This device gives you TEN gas settings to choose from to fine tune your gas to the load and suppressor you are using. Unlike the factory selector that only gives you two settings.

This thing is a total game changer. During my initial review I have been very impressed with the results. The SCARbuator Gen 3 simply replaces the factory gas setting selector installing in seconds allowing the factory gas jet to remain in place. It also has set screws so that you can lock it into a favorable position without worry of it being bumped out of place. However, this is an added precaution because the 10 settings already have their own detents to hold them into place.

Moving forward you will be seeing some more of MotoTech Engineering's products on the channel. I have purchased the rubberized buffer pad, and their torx screw upgrades to ensure a long service life on my SCAR 17 parts. Reviews to come on all the upgrades soon.
