Salvaged covers a variety of chapters in the author's life, from his days playing Babe Ruth League baseball to high school drama, as well as attempts at filmmaking and more recent attempts at dabbling in cryptocurrency. An entire section of the book details the author's experiences as a grad student with the University of Louisville's debate program, as well as personal friendships through the years.

Brian Paige is an author who lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with his wife, Amanda, and son, Andrew. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, 2011 U of L graduate with a Master of Arts in Communication, and 2016 graduate of the University of the Cumberlands with a Master of Arts in Teaching in secondary social studies. He also has a self-produced album under the name Demo, Sonic Screamer.
