Osama bin Laden ‘Letter to America’ TikTok posts are ‘stomach-churning’

To see the “Letter to America” hashtag trending on TikTok today was stomach-churning, says Sky News host Erin Molan.

The Letter to America was written by Osama bin Laden a year after the 9/11 attacks, which Ms Molan called his “pathetic attempt at justifying the atrocity”.

“And the reaction to its republishing by The Guardian this week … I’m actually lost for words,” she said.

Ms Molan said people online are suggesting that they now understand why he carried out the attacks.

“The majority of those sharing the letter are doing so in a supportive, positive way – they say it's completely opened their eyes and they are linking it to the atrocities committed by Hamas against the people of Israel last month.

“As in – they are suggesting a similar type of justification exists.”
