Humanity has progressed incredibly throughout the years, and this progress can be attributed to inventors. Thanks to their cumulative work, we are able to live our lives conveniently and solve our daily problems with ease.

If we were to write all the inventors’ names that helped further humanity, there would simply be not enough space to write. Still, some names can be listed such as Thomas Edison or Alexander Graham Bell as their inventions changed the world drastically.

There is also another inventor whose inventions affected our lives as much but his name is often not spelled out in schools: Nikola Tesla. You have probably heard his name before but to answer the questions of “Who is Nikola Tesla?” and “What did Nikola Tesla invent?“, we need to know more than just his name.

Tesla was born in 1856. His father was a priest who wanted his son to follow in his footsteps. However, Tesla was interested in science. His mother had invented labor-saving devices from which Tesla took inspiration from. As part of his education, he enrolled in the Austrian Polytechnic in Graz, and his fascination for electricity started to grow. Through hard work and little sleep, which became his lifestyle, he pursued this fascination.

In the upcoming years, he became addicted to gambling, lost his scholarship, and dropped out of school. However, this did not hinder him from inventing. From alternating current (AC) to remote control technology, he came up with many inventions that we still use today. If you are curious about them, be sure to watch this video!
