Open Your Eye Ep96 with guest Chris Jordan

Tarra Simpson & Kim Cooper catch up with returning guest Kambo practitioner Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan is a full-time single father to a 12-year-old girl, and father to a low functioning autistic 22-year-old boy that resides in a special needs home. He works in addiction recovery as a coach and a certified international Kambo practitioner that honours the traditional practices of the Matses tribe from Peru. After over 20 years of battling depression, addictions, anxiety, chronic pain, and ADHD due to deep rooted trauma, he says plant medicine saved his life. He had sought out the western ways of treatment with no success, so in 2016 he tried something else. Utilizing cannabis as a harm reduction tool, he found it helped him with cravings and widened the gaps between relapses. Through the cannabis community he was introduced to other plant medicines and eventually found himself healing the core wounds that lead him to substance abuse, when he found psilocybin, Kambo, Ayahuasca and other psychedelic plant, animal, & fungi-based medicines. When asked what the medicine did for him, Chris had this to say: "These natural spiritual medicines assisted in catalyzing my consciousness so I could change my thought patterns, feel the emotions I had suppressed, and face the emotional pain I lived with. My first Kambo experience was over 5 years ago in Vancouver, and I felt connected to the spirit of the frog almost instantly, I had so much more inner healing work to do, after receiving the medicine about 18 times over multiple ceremonies, I felt a strong calling to move further with my relationship with Kambo, so I started doing more work with my Kambo practitioner in Vancouver, learning more and growing with the medicine. I was trained and certified in Mexico by a Spanish speaking Master Kambo practitioner that lived in the jungle with the Matses for 8 years. I stay connected to the spirit of Kambo self-dosing a couple times a month, and I participate in Ayahuasca ceremonies quite often to stay connected to the plant spirits. Working with these medicines have been catalysts for me to always look within, taking responsibility for my actions in life and to keep doing my healing work."
Chris has now achieved advanced certification from his ongoing education in the Amazon Jungle
