Israel, a rally, and the beam in the right’s eye

Yesterday a big crowd marched in Washington, D.C. in support of Israel, in contrast to the ugly riots against it. That’s the good news. The bad news is that some people had to let their antipathy – again, not against Israel alone, but against Jews – interfere with their jobs. But fresh evidence has emerged that Israel is in the right, and her enemies in the wrong, in her war. That is something all who call themselves conservatives, ought to consider.
The march for Israel
Yesterday, a crowd, which reliable witnesses estimate at 300,000, converged on Washington, D.C. to show support for Israel.

Among the marchers were many who flew in to Washington’s two airports. But an ugly incident happened at the John Foster Dulles Airport on the city’s outskirts. Bus drivers, who had signed on to ferry marchers from their planes to the terminal, staged a wildcat sickout. Quite simply, they didn’t want to transport Jews to this event.

The photographs of 900 stranded passengers on the tarmac says it all. It is the worst service failure your editor has ever heard of, at any airport – and he’s been through several. Whether these were Dulles Airport employees, or a bus company under contract to serve the rally, is not clear – accounts differ. Either way, this speaks directly to hatred, not merely of Israel, but of Jews.
In similarly unpleasant news, the harassment of Jewish students at Ivy League universities is staying in the news. Mike LaChance at The Gateway Pundit reports that Harvard’s First Year Experience Office has evicted a student from on-campus housing for taking part in that incident. But what makes the incident less excusable is that the student was attending Harvard Divinity School. Further details are available at The Harvard Crimson.

Evidence against HAMAS
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Arabic Harakah al-Muqāwamah al-Islāmiyyah, abbreviated HAMAS) has the support of many so-called journalists – and Telegram channel operators – in their propaganda war against Israel. This propaganda offensive states that Israel bombs Gazan civilians indiscriminately, and this includes the bombing or blockading of hospitals.
But new evidence continues to emerge that HAMAS has in fact been using it civilians as shields. That, of course, is part of Muslim ideology. In Islam, “civilian” v. “military” is a distinction without a difference. This is why they can say, with straight faces, that in their October 7 attacks, they did not strike at civilians or civilian targets. To a Muslim, anyone who is not a Muslim is a soldier of the enemy. Civilian? Blank-out – there is no such person.
So the revelation that children as young as ten years old were among HAMAS’ willing executioners on October 7, as Jim Hoft reports today, should surprise no one. The Washington Free Beacon has further details. Quite simply, HAMAS has turned its K-12 schools into junior madrassas and raised a generation of bullies. Again, this is of a piece with fundamentalist Islam.
Yesterday, Jim Hoft revealed more evidence, this time against The New York Times. The Times went full Walter Duranty against Israel on Monday, claiming that HAMAS had no tunnels under or connecting to hospitals. But the IDF found the tunnels, and released photographic and videographic evidence of them.

Mind your choice of friends!
As Darrell L. Castle, attorney-at-law and inactivated U.S. Marine, said last Friday, the ostensible animus against Israel is probably against Jews generally. Did Candace Owens turn against Israel?
The case of Candace Owens is far more difficult to judge than some people think. That includes her boss, Ben Shapiro, who might be on the point of firing her from The Daily Wire. Recently he criticized her in public – something bosses shouldn’t do – over some opinions she has recently expressed about the Fourth Arab-Israeli War.

What did she say? Well, she said a lot of things that indicate she has failed to think matters through, or do proper research.
The current controversy on her remarks began on November 1. Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) had condemned talk of “innocent Palestinian civilians.” Indeed he compared it to talk of “innocent Nazi civilians” during World War Two. When someone shared video of that, Candace Owens replied thus:

Then someone reminded her of the Gazan boy who called his mother to brag about killing Jews in the Negev. Her reply:

After another hiatus
For another three days she left the subject alone. With what she said on other subjects, CNAV has no quarrel. But on Monday of last week she teed off again:

But! She did not deny that at least one atrocious act happened on October 7: the kidnapping of children. Children are not legitimate prisoners of war! But HAMAS took several – and in New York and other American cities, anti-Israel activists ripped down posters featuring them. Candace Owens condemned the rip-down in no uncertain terms.

The problem might have been her statement about “glossing over” the deaths of Palestinian children. Mrs. Owens, CNAV does not “gloss over” that. But CNAV lays the blame where it belongs: with HAMAS, who put those children in harm’s way.
After that exchange, Ben Shapiro washed The Daily Wire’s dirty laundry in public. In reply, Candace Owens posted this:

“You cannot serve both God and money.” That could be her subtly courteous threat to resign if Mr. Shapiro won’t apologize for what he said about her. Or it could be an accusation against Shapiro that he is letting Aluf Hagari’s Spokespersons’ Command pay him. That The Daily Wire has devoted its “front page” to the Fourth Arab-Israeli War is no secret.
In any event, Lauren Witzke shared a screencap of that post (not the post itself) and added this:

Someone should tell her to stay out of other people’s quarrels – especially if she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.
Summary
Two days ago, an American election lawyer said flatly that Democrats chose HAMAS at their peril. His thesis is simple: Israel is in the right, HAMAS is in the wrong, and swing voters know it. It now falls to CNAV to give the same warning to Republicans and conservatives. That Israel has the right in this conflict is objectively demonstrable, beyond a reasonable doubt and to a moral certainty. When your enemies hide behind their own population, you fight as you must. HAMAS doesn’t even know what a fair fight is.
CNAV deplores some of the pronouncements of Lauren Witzke, Candace Owens, and others on the political right. Again, CNAV must take the beam out of the right’s eye, so that the right can see more clearly the speck in the left’s eye.
