Why did the MCU Movie "The Marvels" Flop?

Disney has a historic flop on their hands with "The Marvels" poor opening weekend. The film cost $220 million to produce and $100 million to promote, but started off by racking in only $47 million. Is this because Marvel has just run its course or because people are tired of woke screenplays?
