Gridlock temporarily closed traffic to Food For Florida event

The final day of the Food For Florida program in Fort Myers turned traffic into a nightmare for thousands of people, who flocked to the Port Authority parking lot near Southwest Florida International Airport, looking for help restocking their refrigerators after power losses from Hurricane Irma. Traffic became so congested Tuesday morning that Lee County Sheriff's deputies had to temporarily close access to the event, causing headaches for many who were ironically trying to beat the crowds.
