In this rather long episode (due to updates and corrections in my knowledge), I go over all of the textual and archeological evidence we have for the existence of the Shroud of Turin's images from 30 A.D. to 500 A.D.

I assess two Pro-Shroud hypotheses; Ian Wilson's Image of Edessa/Mandylion theory and its use of the Abgar Legend in ancient Edessa and compare that with Jack Markwardt's Image of God Incarnate theory and Jack's notion of the Shroud having been in ancient Antioch for the first 5 centuries. Finally, I also assess the Shroud skeptic's hypothesis that all texts from this period must be referring to something other than Shroud images.
