Descending abandoned mine airshaft to reveal hidden treasures

Myself and @AbandonedandForgottenWales descended into the airshaft of a collapsed Victorian lead mine, looking for the amazing relics within. This was one of my favorite places yet.

This old lead mine complex dates back to the 1630s. The adit had previously collapsed, and the only access to the relics below was through this air shaft in the woods. The Welsh Mines Trust, including the mining legend himself, Roy Fellows, opened a 75ft roadway and installed the shuttering and ladders to access the deep adit. I've never seen a horse whim underground before, and sitting in the bowl-shaped room where two horses would have worked for over 12 hours a day was a rare privilege
