The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) claims to have penetrated into an underground Hamas command centre amid its ground invasion in Gaza City. Reports say the underground site, now taken by the IDF, is located just below the above-ground Hamas’s military high command site in the besieged enclave.
The IDF reportedly assigned both high-powered Units 401 and Givati troops to capture Hamas’s military high command area.
Senior officials were surprised by the scope and sophistication of Hamas’s “pit” headquarters, as per a report by the Jerusalem Post. Reports say Hamas’s underground command centre is similar to IDF’s “pit” under the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv. The Hamas’s high command area unveiled by IDF also includes a connected tunnel network, as per reports.
