After spending the last three years in Pennsylvania for restoration, a 19th century steam locomotive has settled back home in the Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee.

The locomotive is known as a Yankee which is a vertical boiler model manufactured by Alexander Chaplin and Co. of Glasgow, Scotland, between 1862 and 1868.

The museum is planning an open house from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec 1 to celebrate its return to the Copper Country. Admission is free.
