Today's Lesson

We are in Lesson-02 in the series “Grow in Grace, Grow in Knowledge” from the book of II Peter.
 
This is Volume II of our series: “Strangers and Pilgrims” a study of I and II Peter.
 
The lesson is titled “Called to Abundant Living – Part II” and our focus passage is II Peter 1:5-11.
 
Please find your way in your Bible to that passage.

In our previous episode, we began our study of II Peter 1, with our first division “Called to Full Lives” from verses 1-4.
 
In this second letter, the Apostle Peter teaches that focusing on and living out the truth in Scripture, believers will be able to grow spiritually and stand firm against false teachings.
 
In our first division, Peter told us that because of God’s divine power, each believer has been granted everything they need for life and godliness.
 
This is done through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
 
There is that concept again: knowledge of Him (cf. Phil. 3:8-10). It’s all about Jesus.
 
It’s all about knowing Jesus.

Now that we understand how God has empowered, equipped, and enabled us to live a full godly life for His glory, we need to do something with that knowledge.

Today we will focus on our second division, “Called to Fruitful Lives”, v5-11.
