Buying an Ozone Generator -- Know the Basics

When buying your own ozone setup you should know what is what, what it’s called, and what it does.

Here I show how to distinguish between an ozone generator and an oxygen concentrator, and explain what a regulator is for.

When you’re well informed before buying your own ozone generator, you can potentially save money and make purchases better suited to your needs.
Here are the different pieces of ozone equipment you should know about:

Oxygen concentrator:
A machine that sucks in air which contains around 20% oxygen and puts out 90 to 95% pure oxygen. Most oxygen concentrators come with built-in high flow regulator, so you need an additional low flow regulator to decrease the oxygen flow.

External low flow regulator:
This is a gadget to decrease the flow of the oxygen concentrator.

Oxygen tanks:
Are an alternative to oxygen concentrators. Oxygen tanks are filled with 99% pure oxygen. There are industrial and medical tanks. Both types require low flow or pediatric, or low flow, regulators.

Ozone generator:
It makes ozone out of a small portion of the oxygen which is fed into the generator. It exposes the O2 molecules to electricity so that some of them temporarily rearrange into O3.
