We've known for a while that The Marvels was going to be a box office disaster before a single ticket was purchased, before any cringe cat videos or cat posters were used for promotional marketing, before one single review was written. In fact, one could argue the failure of not only The Marvels, but of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe during this Multiverse Saga was practically predetermined over 5 years ago because of one notable firing.
