Emergency Dispatcher Dials 911 to Save Herself

911 Dispatchers aren't always treated like the police officers and firefighter/paramedics they work with. They are the first contact someone has in an emergency, and have to remain calm in an often fierce firestorm. They are exposed to the same post-traumatic stress as any other first responder.

Just when she though she'd hit rock bottom, Amanda's PTSD would bring her to a new low. Her perseverance and return to the profession is a brave example for 911 professionals across the country, as well as anyone who can identify with her struggle.
