Analyzing and striving to emulate five points about the Philippians that brought Paul joy.

Delivered during the Evenfall service, 11/5/2023. The letter to the Philippians is quite often referred to by commentators and scholars as "Paul's letter of joy". We will analyze five points concerning the nature, faith and behavior of the church that contributed to this joy. As four of them will be found in the verses we have already covered, we will spend most of our time discussing the fifth point which describes and qualifies his deep affection for the church and its members. Ultimately we will reason that what brought joy to a godly apostle like Paul would also bring joy to our Lord Jesus. And so we will strive to model our own behavior, witness and love after that of the Philippians, and thereby bring joy to our Lord, and discover a deeper joy for ourselves, as we implement these points of joy.
