Oak Hill Church of Christ 11-12-23 Message: "Don't Freak Out When Bad Things Happen"

Oak Hill Church of Christ preaching minister, Randy Sterling, delivers a message on the peace that comes from knowing that all things are in accordance with God's plan.

Jesus understood that people in his day as well as ours will always include those who find it difficult to manage stress. Not only do they manage stress poorly, but, they are susceptible to reminders of strife and difficulty.

Jesus warns his friends that there will always be messages of doom. The end of the world has always been "just ten years" away for over two thousand years. People behaved foolishly in the past as well as today. When they hear a negative report about the future, they panic and make irrational decisions. Logic and Wisdom depart from them immediately and emotion rules in their place.

Jesus wants to inspire his friends even today; we should trust in God and God's plan for the future, preparing ourselves to deal with the struggles of life, instead of acting with fear.

Flee from those who constantly warn of impending doom, especially those who prey on your emotions by offering "solutions" for the right price. God does not want to profit from your future. He wants you to improve and He is the one who paid the cost. Run toward God and be secure in His plans for the future.
