Ukrainian soldier fires back after Russians shoot him in the chest near Bakhmut. A Ukrainian soldier survived being shot in the chest and shelled. The lucky fighter, of the 3rd Assault Brigade, captured his narrow escape during battles somewhere to the south of Bakhmut. Video shows the machine-gunner opening fire on Russian troops. Before a shell lands just feet from the foxhole where he is hiding. Having survived the blast, he pops back up to continue firing. Just a few seconds later he is shot in the chest by the Russians. However, his bullet-proof vest stopped the round from killing him. Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade is leading the fight around Bakhmut. Zelensky says troops are making advances south of the city.
