Tim Scott says he’s suspending his presidential campaign

On Sunday night, Republican Tim Scott declared the suspension of his presidential campaign during an appearance on “Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy” on Fox News.

“When I go back to Iowa, it will not be as a presidential candidate. I am suspending my campaign. I think the voters, who are the most remarkable people on the planet, have been really clear that — they’re telling me, ‘Not now, Tim,'” Scott said.

Scott’s campaign called off his entire Iowa tour over the weekend due to flu concerns, but despite this setback, they maintained an optimistic outlook on securing the GOP nomination for him as president.

The campaign confirmed to ABC News earlier on Sunday that Scott intended to participate in the Bob Vander Plaats’ Family Leader Thanksgiving Forum later in the week, ABC News reported.
