IGNTION: WHAT IS TO COME
(II PETER 3:10-13)
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

I. Look Into The Future! (Dan. 12:1b-2)
• Good Morning!! I am so glad that you are here today!
• Today we are taking a look into the future! 😀
• When you hear that someone is going to tell you your future what do you think? Where does your mind go to?
• When many people hear this, naturally many go to the mystics, astrologers, ext.
• And last Sunday we saw how King Nebby inquired of these various entities.
• The result however did not go as planned. He learned and did many others that if you are in need of answers the best one to go to is God. (James 1:5) ““If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
• Daniel was given the opportunities to be used by God to tell Nebby about the dreams!
• But God would also tell Daniel about things that were to come as well!
• Look at what God revealed to Daniel in chapter 12:1b-3) ““At that time Michael shall stand up,The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars”
• Look at what is God is making known!

II. Tell The Whole Truth! (Luke 16:19-31)
• As we continue to look into our text we see that the Apostle Peter, addresses the fact that there is a standard of living we need to strive for!
• Great travesty of the Church today: we do not tell people the consequences of Sin!
• We tell people how to get they life right, we have some that are preaching the power of positivity and financial security, but we are not telling people about the consequences of living life opposite of God that leads to HELL!
• This is a tremendous disservice not only to the lost, but also Christ whom has sent us to be Witnesses and living testimonies!
• Jesus spent more time referencing Hell than Heaven. Here’s a question for you…why?
• Because He doesn’t want us to go there!!!
• Listen to this Parable that Jesus tells and see if you can catch it (Luke 16;19-31)
• The sentiment of the Rich Man is unfortunately the mindset of not just the world, but also of many “CHRISTIANS”
• Look at verse 26: “great gulf, is fixed”
• Wording changes in the translations: NIV(Great Chasm), KJV/NKJV(Great Gulf), CJB(Deep Rift)
• No matter how you look at it, there are two locations that people can go to. Heaven or Hell! (Matthew 7:13-14 NIV) ““Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
• Jesus calls for us to choose Heaven, but He let’s us know that He’ll is a destination we can choose as well!
• Peter informs us that the results of choosing Heaven leads to exuding the characteristics of godliness that we sought after!

III. All Things New! (Revelation 21:1-2)
• Peter informs us of the new things coming!
• Many believers do not know that there is a new Heaven and a New Earth, and a New Jerusalem coming!
• Serious questions time: Why is that?
• Inadequate study of the Bible!
• Listen to (Revelation 21:1-2) “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”
• This is promise that we are given! But unfortunately this is information that is not being shared, and in some cases is being shared incorrectly!
• We must share the truth’. And share it correctly and fully regardless of how it will make you uneasy!
• We should know this!!
