Iceland volcanic eruption: Is it still likely?

Icelandic scientists are warning that a volcanic eruption in the southwest of the country is still very likely, despite a decrease in seismic activity in the area. More than a thousand earthquakes have hit the area since midnight, but they have mostly been weaker than those over the last couple of days. However, experts stress that a 15-kilometer long river of magma running under the peninsula is still active and poses a threat to nearby towns.
