IF you are growing orchids and are not blessed with a controlled environment that provides heat, no matter what the outdoor temperatures are, light and good airflow, then even IF new roots are growing and you need to work on an orchid, DO NOT repot! NO MATTER the media! Wait for ideal temperatures to return! I made this mistake with my phalaenopsis no ID and paid the price. She was a vigorous growing phalaenopsis orchid and bloomed well every year. Then, 'all I wanted to do was stake her so that her new roots will be guaranteed to grow into the pot' and boom!
