Bruce Weber Quotes:

ON HOW TOUGH OF A TEAM KU IS...
"His teams, Coach Self’s teams, take a lot of pride in toughness, they take a lot of pride in winning close games, making the right plays at the right time. That’s what we — we’ve still got to approach the game like they’re a special team. And they are. They’ve already beaten Tennessee, who is No. 1 in the country. They’ve beaten Marquette, who we didn’t beat. They just beat Texas Tech by a bunch and scored a bunch of points against one of the best defensive teams. They’re a good team. We have to have a great mindset. Our 15 guys in the locker room have to have great preparation, great focus and they’ve got to go out there and execute what we do well.”

ON HOW K-STATE CAN BEAT KU...
"It’s executing on offense, executing on defense, the things we do well, and then you’ve got to do it for 40 minutes because they’ll keep coming at you. They have a great ability of finding a way to win close games. That’s kind of the challenge. We were really good Saturday. Obviously it helps to make shots, but on both ends of the court, we executed and did the things that we practiced and that we’re good at.”

ON STOPPING DEDRIC LAWSON…
“I think he’s really good and he’s kind of old school. It reminds me of Bob Boozer, guys like that. The old school power forwards. Great hands, great feet, great instincts. If you give him some space, he can score. It’s going — obviously we’ve got to fight him in the post and make it tough on him, make it tough on catches, but then we’ve got to be there to help, too, and not just rely on one guy to stop him.”
