Former traffic cop says his £36K VW Tiguan isn't fit to be driven on British roads

A former traffic policeman claims his new £32K VW is 'dangerously unfit' for rural roads as a safety feature means it keeps performing automatic emergency stops.

Mark Leath, 58, says the four-wheel-drive Tiguan is a danger on the roads because it repeatedly applies the breaks without warning.

A 'Front Assist' safety feature scans the road ahead for obstructions but is triggered repeatedly on the narrow roads around the couple's home in Mullion, Cornwall.
