O come, O come, Emmanuel - Christmas Carol - LESS REVERB VERSION

O come, O come, Emmanuel is a Christmas Carol which has roots that go back to the ninth century. John Mason Neale translated the Latin text in 1864 to English and has been a favorite for many to sing around Christmas time but really these Christmas songs should not be limited just singing them around the holidays but year round. Anyways I sing and play it on acoustic guitar. I have a version posted with more reverb as well.

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel – full lyrics
(my version)

O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here,
Until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, O bright and Morning Star,
and bring us comfort from afar!
Dispel the shadows of the night
and turn our darkness into light.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Dayspring, from on high,
And cheer us by Thy drawing nigh;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Key of David, come
And open wide our heav'nly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
-

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny;
From depths of hell Thy people save,
And give them victory o'er the grave.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
