OVERVIEW
Kaitlin Armstrong from Michigan, is accused of killing cyclist Anna Moriah ”Mo” Wilson in May 2022, before fleeing to Costa Rica. Kaitlin Armstrong was on the run for 42 days.

On May 11, 2022 a welfare check came in to the 911 operator. An Austen Texas resident who went by Cat, and a friend of Mo, called 911 and said that she came home and found her friend (Mo) shot and was performing CPR.

At 10:10 PM that evening Anna Mariah Wilson was pronounced dead.

Anna Moriah "Mo" Wilson was a gravel cyclist which is essentially like mountain bike racing. She was an up and coming star and was in Austin that week to participate in a race and was a favored to win. She had just won the Belgian waffle ride in California two weeks prior.

She was 25 years old

Colin Strickland is also another cyclist from Austin TX. When he was not cycling, he ran a company specialized in restoring old trailers. He ran the company along with his girlfriend Kaitlin Armstrong who was a 34-year-old real estate agent and yoga instructor.

They had been dating since 2019 in 2021 Kaitlin and Colin went on a break

Colin and Mo met each other at a race and they started dating. Collin said he was on a break from Kaitlin, but the two still resided together in Austin.

It appears that Kaitlin might have discovered the romance and wasn't happy. Kaitlin began stalking Mo on social media and in IRL.

In May 2022, Mo went to Austin for a race and stayed with her friend, Cat.

Mo texted her friend saying she was going to hang out with Colin and that they were going to go swimming or do whatever.

Cat left the house after that returned about 9:55pm and she found Mo in the bathroom unconscious and bleeding.

Nearby surveillance cameras showed a dark SUV outside of the house at 8:00PM or so.

It seemed like Colin was still dating Kaitlin at this time because they still resided together. Police went over to Colin's house and found the same SUV in his driveway.

It sounds like Colin dropped Mo off at about 8:30 PM then texted Kaitlin saying he was on his way home then around 9:30 PM you could see the black SUV passing in front of Cat’s home we're Mo was staying.

In addition to the SUV, the love triangle, a few anonymous calls saying that Kaitlin intended to kill Mo, and that Kaitlin was very angry that Mo was interfering with her relationship with Colin, caused police to focus on her. On May 17th 2023 Kaitlin was charged with murder. However, by that time she was on the run.

Kaitlin left Austin for Houston and then onto New York City, where she stayed with her sister for a few days before flying out to Costa Recca with her sister’s passport.

Kaitlin was arrested in Costa Recca on June 29, 2022 after what appeared to be some plastic surgery and dying her hair color.
