Ukrainian army hits with US missiles the military airfield with large number of Russian helicopters

On October 17, Ukrainian armed forces launched a missile attack on a military airfield in one of the occupied cities.
This was reported by the Russian "Fighterbomber" telegram channel. The channel, which broadcasts information about the war, is managed by the captain of the Russian armed forces, Ilya Tumanov. Although the channel did not mention the name of the city, other Russian military telegram channels wrote that the incident took place in the occupied city of Berdiansk, Zaporozhzhia region. It is said that the attack was carried out by ATACMS missiles provided to Ukraine by the United States as part of military assistance. Some channels write that 40 rockets were fired at the same time, that the air defense system was powerless against these strikes, and even that these systems were hit.
According to the "Fighterbomber" channel, this is one of the most serious strikes against the Russian army from February 2022, perhaps the first. The channel writes that as a result of the strike, a large number of military equipment, including helicopters, as well as manpower was destroyed. The exact number of casualties is not given.
Russian channels also report that an attack was made on a military airfield in the Lugansk region.
The Ukrainian side did not comment on the information. According to the information released by the headquarters of the armed forces of Ukraine, two helicopters belonging to the invading Russian army were destroyed in the last day. The helicopters were said to have been shot down while on the ground.
