In July 2016, Minnesota officer Jeronimo Yanez shot and killed Philando Castile after the 32-year-old told the officer during a traffic stop that he was carrying a weapon.  The shooting made national headlines and sparked a conversation about the safety of traffic stops -- especially when a driver is legally armed.
