Best study of The Face on Mars.

In 1976 the Nasa Viking program pictured a remarkable anomaly in the region of Mars called Cydonia at 6pm on a Martian Summer Day, which became known as The Face. The Face drew a lot of attention and people wondered if it really was an artificial structure, which would change our entire understanding of our place in the Universe.

Nasa quickly scheduled a press conference and was able to give the people an answer." No, it was not an artificial structure!" it was all a trick of light which disappeared a few hours later after a second picture was taken.

So, people at the time in 1976 accepted the explanation and largely forgot about the so-called Face.

This until three years later when a couple of computer imaging experts who were at the press conference in 1976 surprisingly discovered that there really WASN'T a "Second picture taken a few hours later of the Face!", when they searched through Nasa's images of Cydonia.

But in their search, they discovered something even more surprising, 35 days after the original picture was taken, another picture WAS taken at a different time of day, and it showed the Face clear as day. So now there was two different pictures which proved the Face existed.

The two couldn't believe what they had found, and then it suddenly hit them, there could never have been a second picture taken A FEW HOURS LATER, because that first picture was taken at 6pm and a few hours later the sun would have gone down and it would have been dark. It would have been impossible!

That was the first time that Nasa lied about the face on Mars, but not the last.
