Ode to Technofeudalism: A Modern Serfdom

These new-age barons, in towers of code,
Dictate the flow of the digital road.
With every click, like a vassal's toil,
We enrich their domain, their virtual soil.

Algorithms stand as the lords of yore,
Decreeing fate, opening and closing doors.
In warehouse aisles or office cubes,
Workers toil under digital rubes.

In the labyrinth of code, we lose our way,
Serfs in a land where the digital sway.
Our voices echo in the virtual space,
Seeking freedom in this intangible place.

But amidst this reign of the silicon lord,
A question arises, a resonant chord.
In this technofeudal landscape, vast and wide,
Shall we succumb, or shall we stride?
Revolutions, graveyards of hope and dream,
Where only the elite can scheme.
A world where decision-making's lost its way,
Under chemical sway, day after day.

In the hands of oligarchs, resources confined,
Manipulating masses, body and mind.
Corporations' maleficence, a minimal cost,
Leaving nations in decay, forever lost.

Questions of existence, in this societal hive,
Where compliance is the only way to survive.
Cerebral augmentations, a happiness so bleak,
Rewiring youth, making them weak.

A life of labor, substances, and pain,
A cycle of despair, again and again.
In this world, Zen's wisdom seems so far,
"Be satisfied, be happy," a distant star.

In this dyscocial world, technofeudal and grim,
Where light of hope is but a whim.
A tale of control, of power and might,
In the shadows of Baldur's Gate, eternal night.
