Journey Into the Beyond – 1975

Director Rolf Olsen – This is one of the best films of the genre, A hauntological masterpiece. Fans of Mondo films will love this. Our tour guide through the supernatural is John Carradine and themes ranging from Kirlian photography, spirit drawing, exorcism, psychic healings, amazing footage of psychokinesis, weeping statues, a low-light séance with ectoplasm, levitation (I can go on)…. It’s a grand slam of supernatural coverage! The film does a great job building atmosphere through Moog sound effects, random footage of spooky ossuaries and Carradine’s deep sophisticated voice. This film was originally produced in Germany and was released in the US in 1977.
