A livestock feeding trough broke. So, I used this opportunity to fix the feeder to teach my daughter how to MIG weld. She was very nervous to use the welder. I reassured that she could learn to weld. I suited her up with all of my welding gear including leather shirt, gloves and auto darkening welding hood. It was a lot of gear, and she was stressed out. I hooked up our Lincoln 210 MP welder and set it to weld 12-gauge metal. There was no wind so there was no problem with the gas being blown away while welding. After her first two welds she started to build confidence and was able to lay down a couple of welds. My son wore a welding helmet and watched intently as his sister welded. It took three times as long to weld the livestock feeder back together. It was worth every minute to capture this learning moment between me and my kids.
