Holes found in my front yard, Oct. 2023 = different than past rock/glass/pine cone/leaf.

The holes were many in my front yard. Hard to spot. Didn't appear to be dug by hands or claws or swirled by snouts. I planted daikon radish seeds in a few holes, and they grew.
A few years ago, I started finding other types of holes in my yard on each side of my house. Didn't realize it was a thing at first, just a perfect autumn leaf here & there at a non-autumn time of year. Then I noticed what was under each leaf, that there were several of those shallow, smooth, round holes with almost identical content. Back then each smooth shallow hole or indentation contained a small rock, a shard of glass, a small pinecone, covered by a leaf.
