MEBA engineers(CIVMARS-civilian mariners) getting ready to get underway for a turbo activation. This is a triple screw 79,000 hp three engine plant. There are three main engines a port, a Center and a starboard. This is an air operated clutch that engages the port shaft to the port engine. The rotation of the engines varies according to orientation. For instance, they don’t all spin clockwise. This vessel supports various missions, including humanitarian and global security. The center main engine relies on a variable pitch propeller. The engine rotates at a constant rpm, and the pitch of the blades determines the speed that is required.
