Let's start by exploring the process of digestion. When we consume protein, fats, or carbohydrates, the process begins in the mouth and continues in the stomach and small intestine. Proper digestion is crucial for our bodies to extract the necessary nutrients from food.

The digestion process starts in the mouth, where food is broken down through chewing. It then moves to the stomach, where the food is met with stomach acid to aid in further breakdown. From there, it enters the small intestine, where enzymes from the pancreas and bile from the gallbladder help break down the food even further. Finally, the nutrients are absorbed into the bloodstream through the walls of the small intestine.
