How to make New Orleans Beignets French Donuts

Beignets very popular in New Orleans, also called french donuts are much easier and faster to make than regular donuts. There is no mess to try to fill them. You can make sauces on the side to dip beignets: nutella, chocolate sauce, raspberry sauce.

Ingredients
- 4 and 1/3 cups All Purpose Flour
- 3 tbs butter
- 1 egg + egg yolk
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 cup of warm water 105F
- 2 tsp of dry active yeast
- 1/3 cup of sugar plus 1 tbs
- pinch of salt
Neutral oil (like canola) for frying
Powdered sugar

Nutritional Facts for dough without frying
49 servings per recipe
Calories per Serving: 56
Total fat: 1.2 g
Total Carbohydrates: 9.5 g
Protein: 1.5 g
I am not sure how many calories deep frying adds. I read that it at least doubles the calories.
Another way I calculate the deep frying calories is: I way the oil before frying and weigh it again after I finish frying and divide by the number of servings for this recipe. This is as close as can make it :)
