US Rejects China’s South China Sea Claims

The Trump Administration has rejected China's maritime claims in the South China Sea, which borders Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam. The Chinese Communist Party has been building artificial islands on the reefs and militarizing them. The announcement by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo marks a huge shift in US policy from the Obama Administration.
